Brent is a triathlete, any way you look at it. He has been participating since he was 10 years old. That’s over 25 years of doing triathlons.
Brent is an Olympian, World Cup Champion, Xterra Champion, IRONMAN 70.3 and IRONMAN Champion. You name the distance and he has raced it and all under the guidance of Lance Watson of Lifesport Coaching for the past 20 years.
Growing up in North Vancouver, Brent enjoyed many sports ranging from high school wrestling to club soccer. It was after high school that Brent turned his sole focus to triathlon and the goal of making the senior national team and ultimately, the Olympic Team.
After three Olympic qualifying cycles, he achieved much en route to competing at the Athens and London Olympic Games. These years of perseverance shaped his move onto the IRONMAN circuit after London which began with multiple wins at the IRONMAN 70.3 distance and led to a win at his debut IRONMAN. Not only did he win that 2014 IRONMAN Arizona, but he broke the course record, went sub 8-hours and posted the fastest time ever by a rookie. His time of 7:55.48 was the 15th fastest IRONMAN of all time.
Brent currently has 4 IRONMAN victories, 5 sub 8-hour finishes and holds one of the fastest IRONMAN times in history with his 7:46 in the 2016 IRONMAN Brazil.
