Brent had his first race this year at IRONMAN 70.3 Texas. This would be a great fitness boost and feedback event for Brent in preparation for the North American IRONMAN 70.3 Championships in St. George on May 7th and IRONMAN Brazil. Unfortunately, Brent experienced flu like symptoms in the days leading up to the event. Whether it was food poisoning or an actual illness, Brent soldiered on determined to get the most out of himself on race day. He had a great swim, but after vomiting on the bike continuously, he just weaker and weaker. Upon reaching T2, Brent had absolutely nothing left in the tank and had to stop. Not finishing when your heart and head want to race is one of the greatest challenges for a professional athlete. Naturally, Brent is frustrated but he has his eye on the prize and he will move forward to his next goal at the North American IRONMAN 70.3 Championship and IRONMAN Brazil.
