What a day at IRONMAN Arizona! Brent went so fast today cranking out his best Ironman marathon in 2:40 and finishing his 4th sub 8-hour Ironman of his career – 4 sub 8-hour marathons in 7 IRONMAN attempts – pretty extraordinary! In spite of breaking his own course record and recording one of the fastest times of the year, Brent finished 2nd today. What an incredible season – a record setting performance at IRONMAN Brazil in May with a 7:46, then a 7th place in the highly competitive Island House Invitational against short course specialists and now, a 7 hr 50 IRONMAN and 2:40 closing marathon. The win would have been incredible but to move from 6th place off of the bike to 2nd overall is brilliant.
