Hi there .. Brent had a great swim/bike at the Asia Pacific IRONMAN 70.3 Championships but suffered on the hot run to finish in 8th place. Brent actually led the field off of the bike but Cebu, Philippines is so hot and humid so anything can happen on the 1/2 marathon.
Nonetheless, this was a great first race back post IRONMAN Brazil and a great bit of speed work for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships on September 4th and the IRONMAN World Championships on October 8th!
Onward and upward!! Thank you for your support as always. Brent is a champion for finishing on a such a tough day! I am sure that every part of his body wanted to stop and jump into an ice bath!!! I have not spoken to Brent so we will have to wait to hear his own words and thoughts. I am definitely “ad-libbing” from my own experience racing at IRONMAN 70.3 Philippines in 2009. It was the hottest place I had ever raced in my life!!
